Darby Litho is a third-generation family owned printer opened in 1927. According to the company's president Mike Cohen, the history of his company goes back to before the Great Depression, when his grandfather established a small print shop providing forms and stationery in 800 sq. ft. on West 23rd Street in NYC. By 1950, both of Sam's sons, Herb and Lenny, joined the business, first with their father and then on their own for a total of 45 years.

In 1963, the Cohens moved their business to West 25th Street, to a 10,000-sqft. space, four times the size of the former facility. In 1977, the company expanded into a larger space on the same street. This remained home until 2003 when it crossed the Hudson River and set up shop in it's current home, a 15,000sf plant in Branchburg New Jersey.
