The town of Chiaverano has conserved its medieval town aspect at the foot of the mountain, a 25-kilometre hill, shaped in prehistoric times by a huge glacier that carved its way down the Aoste Valley. The Revel Chion family, farmers by birth and producers of grappa by vocation, have beeing living and working in Chiaverano for centuries.
