After the Town was destroyed by a large fire in 1936. Community members came together in an effort to establish fire prevention and protection for Fall River Mills and its smaller communities. Thus in 1938 the Fall River Mills Fire Protection District was founded to accomplish this large task. The Fall River Mills Fire Department servers a population of approx 4000 people spread over 100+ square miles in rural Northeastern Shasta County. The department also offers mutual aid to the communities of Burney, Cassel, Glenburn, and McArthur California. Today the Fall River Mills Fire Dept consists of 25 active members, the majority of whom are volunteers. We operate out of one station that is located in the center of the town. The district utilizes 3 engines, 2 patrol's, 1 tender.
