This new Hip Pack from Apidura is a great way to expand your carrying capacity without loading up your back. It's super well designed and fully waterproof. We've been running them as camera bags for easy access snapping en route add-on, or as a stand alone pack for when you're out for the day and want to keep things minimal, but with enough room for the essentials if the weather changes.

Made from a a smart mix of materials in all the right places: breathable mesh and durable, waterproof nylon ripstop. It has a main compartment with internal pockets and two easy to get at external pockets for snacks and tools. The waist strap has a fast close elasticated velcro tab, with a secondary secure buckle to dial in the fit. A bit of hi-viz detailing seals the deal.

Size

The Backcountry Hip Pack comes in a single size made to accommodate as many riders as possible and has been designed with all-day comfort in mind. To check the product fits we recommend measuring your waist, at the point where you’d like the pack to sit, whilst wearing your regular riding gear. The pack’s waist strap has some stretch and so if you are near to, or slightly over, the upper limit, there is enough give for the pack to still fit comfortably.

Materials

The Backcountry Hip Pack is made from nylon ripstop; a rugged fabric made to our own exacting specifications for durability and waterproofing. Designed for the demands of off-road riding, this ensures light weight, low stretch, and high abrasion and tear resistance.

Notably, the cycling hip pack is seam taped, creating a watertight seal that ensures the hip pack remains completely waterproof. The velcro strap has an elastic stretch casing and features a Hypalon panel which provides additional support for the security buckle.

The fastening system uses Woojin buckles for their reliability and the side straps feature lightweight mesh and padding for comfort. Low profile, quick drying padding on the rear of the bag further improves comfort without adding bulk.
