The Old Michie Theatre is a youth theatre for children by children and young adults that was founded to inspire children and young adults with the joys of live theatre. It was created based on the writings of John Dewey and takes an approach to educational theatre using Carol Tomlinson's differentiated instructional model. Founder Frances Furlong has continued to run the theatre's artistic and educational programming for 22 years. A Juilliard School of Music-Pre-College alum and Brown University. University of Virginia and Harvard's Graduate School of Education graduate, Ms. Furlong is a licensed K-12 English and Drama educator, Stage Director, and professional puppeteer.
