With 25 years of retail and marketing experience between us, we have a passion for scouring the globe to seek out that something extra-special; always well made, useful and beautiful, sometimes curious or quirky, and often all of the above. Nature is very much at the heart of our buying inspiration. Whether it be in terms of design, such as leaf-shaped tableware and porcelain bowls with elephant trunks for feet, or materials, such as pure linen, horn, alpaca wool and vegetable wax candles, there is a definite natural theme running throughout our collection. Plastics are avoided where possible, as are chemicals and synthetic fibres. Lots of our suppliers use recycled packaging and print in soy ink, and wherever possible we try to ensure that our natural materials come from renewable resources.

Although we're very proud of our gorgeous website, we're not just an internet presence. First and foremost we're shopkeepers, and so we also have a lovely little shop in Barnard Castle in the heart of beautiful Teesdale in rural County Durham. There you will find not only our on-line offering, but also our range of beautifully hand-crafted Lloyd Loom furniture to order, with many examples on show.
