Ferguson Polycom produces rubber compounds formulated to customer's own specification and speciality elastomer coated fabrics. The custom designed fabrics use substrates made of glass, polyester, nylon, cotton and aramid fibres which are then coated with Neoprene, Silicone, Polyurethane, Natural and Nitrile rubber. The resultant fabrics provide low gas permeability, high temperature, abrasion resistance, flexible and flame retardant characteristics. The fabrics are then engineered and fabricated by the customer into products that are used in a wide range of industrial, fashion, leisure and military applications. Specific end uses include rain wear, survival suits, life jackets, fireman's uniforms, tri-laminate dry diving suits, car hoods, flexible ducting, fire blankets and curtains, hydraulic hoses and seals.
