DO Floating Seal
Duo-cone seal also called O-ring face seal and DO floating goetze seal. DO floating seal consists of two separate metal seal rings and two o-rings which provide elastic compression within housing bores.
Fuyote is one of the most experienced duo cone seal manufacturers in the industry with an 8000 square meter plant area. Utilizing durable materials and precise engineering, our duo cone seals offer longevity, reliability, and optimal performance in demanding environments. Please check out the seal duo cone sizes and catalog below!
What Is A Duo Cone Seal?
Duo Cone seals are specialized floating seals used in heavy machinery and equipment. They are mainly used to prevent the leakage of lubricants and fluids, keep damaging contamination outside, and maintain effective sealing in heavy machinery and industrial equipment operating in demanding conditions. A dual cone seal consists of two identical metal seal rings and two elastomeric o-rings. The metal seal rings of Fuyote's Duo Cone Seals are made of high-alloy cast iron, with precision-machined surfaces. These rings are designed to fit closely together when installed into a housing or a bore.
Overview of Fuyote DO Floating Seals
Fuyote DO floating seal available sizes: 35~1105mm
Metal Seal Ring Material: Fuyote's metal seal rings are manufactured of high alloy cast iron. Fuyote offers two kinds of material for different applications.
Materials for o-rings: O-ring material defines the application temperatures and pressure. Fuyote offers three kinds of materials for o-rings: NBR, HNBR, and Silicone.
Advantages of duo-cone seals: lower price point and a wide range of applications.
Primary Applications: mining equipment, off-road and tracked vehicles, conveyors and construction equipment; agricultural machinery.
Benefits of Fuyote's Duo-Cone Seals
Wear and corrosion resistant, long service life, maintenance free.
Exceptional sealing capacity against exterior contaminates such as abrasive media, moisture, and chemicals, oil, and grease.
Self-centering to compensate for shaft eccentricity or misalignment.
Oil lubricates and cools the seal faces, allowing for higher rotating speeds.
How Does A Duo Cone Seal Work?
Two metal seal rings interact with each other to form a contact sealing face perpendicular to the axis. As o-rings transfer pressure from the housing to seal rings, allowing one metal seal ring rotates with the housing while the other remains stable. Two mechanical face seals thus are in a state of relative motion.
Two relatively moving goetze mechanical face seals create an oil film on the surface of the contact band. This oil film is the key to sealing. During rotating, the mating faces form a contact band that is approximately 0.2mm (0.008") to 0.5mm (0.02") wide retaining the oil lubricant and resisting foreign material. As wearing occurs, the contact band will move inwards. However, o-ring releases elastic compensation, keeping mechanical face seals in a precise position to maintain their stability.
Innovation in Design for Longevity and Reliability
Fuyote design, in which only one metallic seal rotates, creates a leakproof seal, requires no maintenance, provides exceptional service life, and compensates for vibrations, misalignment, eccentricity, assembly wear, and other conditions. The following shows FUYOTE product Advantages.
Black seal faces decrease rusting and increase o-ring gripping ability, eliminating o-ring sliding. For customers who require a white seal face, Fuyote offers anti-skid stripes to achieve the same effect.
Cross-hatched grooves on seal contact bands ensure sufficient oil flow and heat management, enabling the seals to operate in the toughest industrial conditions. At the same time, it also solves the problem that rubber oil seals cannot solve.
